Landscape Row #6

Hello everyone

Thanks so much for all the well wishes, I think we have the situation a little more under control now although there isn't a whole lot that can be done except to be patient and let things heal ...

I finished the last of our
Landscape Rows - #6  -
the Wintery Village
Everyone has been waiting for this one.... even me, I've diligently sewn my other rows and now, I can plan out this row and then how I'm going to sew the others together (with or without strips between the rows....hmmm)

This is around where we are at the moment....

Landscape Rows 1 - 5
Row 5 here belongs to a good friend of mine - Joan Wintersgill of Texas....
Thanks for the photo - I really need to finish mine now - just that everything goes at the speed of snail....

One day....

Landscape Row #6 is in my Craftsy Shop....

I hope you all enjoy sewing this row as much as all the others.

New Designs - Wednesday

Hi there everyone...

I've been away from home for a while, because my mom who is 83 fell and broke her knee and then had surgery on the week-end.... how lovely that I was only told yesterday.....
oh my goodness!!! now its all frail care and a huge plaster cast...
I can't even help out because I have frozen shoulder in my left shoulder and I can't even put my own pants on, nevermind help someone else.

Deep Breath!! it will all be fine...

I've been busy with a lot of patterns and those that didn't make it into the magazine are now going to be finished up and added to the Craftsy shop.

The paypal on my account seems to be sorted out now. It turns out that it was the new regulations from USA banks that you must have a street address and not a PO Box address to do business... Well, that was a headache.... but its all good now.

Here we have our first model on the runway....

Racoon at the Window....
36" (92cm) Intermediate Level

Next up

Candles 20" (50cm) Easy Intermediate level

Third new pattern -

we have
Deep in the Woods
28x36" (74x92cm) Intermediate level

As soon as I finish them up, they're off to market...

I hope you all have a better week!!

'Tis Friday...

We had a public holiday on Wednesday (woman's day) which really threw off the whole week. Wednesday felt like Saturday, Thursday felt like Monday and then there's Friday....
I had to think about it when I woke up....
and then I was happy....
'Tis Friday....
Yaaaay!!

(insert a happy dance here...)

I've been soooooo busy with the new patterns for the Festive Season magazine (Issue #15)... Yikes!! running out of time... but I have done it!! now to just write up each pattern's instructions and then its the whole business of asking the testers.........please read the FBook post and let me know......

I still need to design our next Wild Babies BoM too.... must get it finished today too and also off to the testers... and finish the next Landscape row instructions...

Anyone want to trade places with me?

The 'other' holidays patterns will be assorted sizes.

There's Thanksgiving, October awareness month, origami birds, Adventures of Mr Whiskers and Halloween

Christmas patterns will all be 14" or 14x28" so that they can be made into a Festive quilt if need be.

I hope you all have a great week-end!!

Landscape Row #5

Hi there

Today we're all about the Landscape Row #5

Shame, this poor row has really had no time to shine...

This pretty little row with 'cherry trees' has had to take a back seat here because I've just too many things on my plate all at once.

But no matter, my friend Joan Wintersgill of Texas has finished her row and sent me a photo....
and its amazing!! Thanks so very much Joan!!

I have no idea of how far you all are with your rows, but I hope you're all still hanging in there....
I haven't seen any other photo's of the rows, so no idea... (hint, hint)

I will add row #6 (Winter scene) to my Craftsy shop as soon as I write up the instructions.
Soon, i promise, soon...

Have a wonderful "Womans Day".

August Block of the Month

Hello All,

It's already August... really downhill to Christmas now....
and its time for our Wild Babies Block of the Month.......

Today we have a cute Squirrel Monkey

The pattern as always measures 16" (41cm)

I wanted you to see how tiny these little monkeys are when they're babies.

This monkey was abandoned by its mother, so a cat decided to adopt it...

another point for cats!!

This cute block was tested by Julie Murdoch. Thanks so very much. Its very cute!

This photo was taken outside in the garden - and it looks as if the monkey is right at home there...
So sweet!
This was the block tested by Iris Waite. Also, Thanks so very much. It really turned out beautiful!! LOVE your fabrics you used!

I really hope you enjoy sewing this one just as much!!

Pattern for August is FREE for the month
and is in my Craftsy Shop

The Craftsy shop is experiencing some kind of wierdness with conflicting Internet Browsers... If you experience some of it, try and use a different browser.
I use Google chrome and it seems to work fine, but you could always try firefox or explorer....

Swap a Long

Hello to everyone

I want to host a Swap a Long where you make a mini quilt for someone (not smaller than 12" and not bigger than 20") and actually post it to them....

I was asked if we could use an old UFO lying about.... YES!! why not! If its a Quilt Art Designs pattern and you need to finish it up and fits our size requirement, then do it!! If it fits your partners wishes....

Your mini will need to be a finished project with FMQ and all.... I don't even mean something grand. I can muster a quilt around it or wavy lines across everything - so that's fine too.

Just finish it off nicely - something you can be happy with getting yourself....

Then what are you waiting for? Sign up with your name and email address....

We will start communicating about this on the 2 August after the whole block of the month madness....partners are chosen randomly.

Wait with making something until you hear what your partner likes and dislikes as far as design and colour go.....

Sign up ----> janeenvn@gmail.com
remember - name and email address........

Great surprise free pattern for sign up and another if you complete your mission......

WIP on a Tuesday...

Hi everyone....

A few years back I watched a movie on TV - no idea of the name - but it was about a town in Ireland and 2 lawyers had to get info about a couple from people in the town. The thing that has stuck in my mind all this time was that everywhere they went or spoke to people the answer was the same  -
"we're closed on a Tuesday"....
So the words....on a Tuesday have become something of a joke in our house. On Tuesday you need to use that phrase as much as you can in a 'normal' conversation. Most of the time we're just in fits of laughter at each other....
Just keeping things 'real'

So what are we going to do this Tuesday....

First of all let me say that we collected USD $150 to send to Ramona.  Yaaaay! She will then send it to the woman and her kids that need help. I hope $150 is worth a lot more in USA than here....

Thanks very much to everyone who sent us a 'donation' for a pattern. I send a  HUG to you all!!!

**************************************

And so....

This is Whiskers. Such a cute cat!!

She's the inspiration behind the Adventures of Mr Whiskers blocks....
the whole time I was calling her a he and didn't realize the mistake....oops!

Each month I design a new Adventure of
Mr Whiskers block for the Paper Piecing Magazine...

'cause why not................
I love cats! what can I say.........

 This is block #1
Mr Whiskers night out.......(issue #13)

The blocks measures 18" (47cm)

Great for a pillow or as a novelty quilt.

This is block #2
Mr Whiskers in the Magnolia tree....(Issue #14)

The Paper Piecing magazines can be found in my Craftsy store

or more info here: www.qadpublishing.blogspot.com

Each magazine is full of paper pieced patterns of differing difficulty levels.....and I never have something so hard that no one can make it.......

and that's it ....for a Tuesday....
I hope you all have a great day!!

Its Friday.....already...

Hello to everyone
Its already Friday and I've only managed about a third of what I need to do...

My left shoulder is hurting up a storm and it feels exactly the same as what happened to the right one a while back.... I don't even want to say it out loud in case the shoulder hears me and gets ideas....
Very Frustrating!!

So what have I to show and tell today??

Let me introduce you to Mr Magic...
He lives in the San Francisco area with his momz Ramona...
I love to watch all his antics on Instagram...

Pattern #1

Mr Magic is a Rat Terrier...
didn't even know it was legit... and reminds me somewhat of my dog - a Jack Russell

Pattern #2

I made a few patterns for Ramona because I just love that cute face of Magic's...

These patterns aren't in my Craftsy shop because they're special....

They're used to collect money to send to a family in need....
A long sad case of abuse etc. but we don't need to get into that....
The mom and 3 kids with a dog need some love and support.......

PLEASE help us to send them something nice and let them know they're not alone...
If you would buy any of the 2 patterns (Each are $5) we can send them a "Hello" from everyone who participated. Both patterns measure 16" (42cm) and are on the Intermediate level.

NO they didn't ask me to run this - I just feel they need a little encouragement....who doesn't...

You can send a payment to my Paypal directly and leave a note that says Mr Magic #1 or #2 with your email address and I will send the PDF to your email promptly... promise!!

Thanks so very much
I will show exactly how much we managed to collect for her over the next week.
